Aaaaand gainful employment is GO!

If any of you lovely cats have been there before, expect a few additions to their usual musical fair.  New DJs!  Moar live bands!  They're doing pretty good for themselves so they've one-upped their entertainment budget, and it is now under MY CONTROL.  The new regime is now. _~_

Getting an actual paycheck is gonna be weird, tho.  So much more official than being handed a wad of cash and a six-pack of beer.  Hirako Shinji is now part of a process.  In a system.  I feel like I should go mail something.  Or sit through a phone tree.  Or something else equally...systemic.

Ow.  Just... ow.

Shinji is ALIVE!

So I get back from the camping trip, right?  Finally, no more grass, no more pollen, no more fish slime.  My allergies are all cleared up, right?  So what do I go and do?

I get sick. 

Friggin' sick.

But no longer!  I have conquered the mighty Viruses of Ultimate Doom and Destruction!  I have come out on top!  Shinji is new and improved, and now with added immunities.  (I friggin' damn well hope.)

All is well in the world now, as I am free to go bug Schiffer people. 

There are squeak toys on my bed.  There is saliva on my shoes.  The window is shattered.  

Did some yabbo break into my room and leave me a puppy?  Because I don't recall ever asking for a puppy.  I don't even like puppies.  And last I checked, puppies don't generally come bearing friggin' huge-ass claymores.  

I really could have gone through the day just fine without stepping on the half-eaten gummy bears cemented to the floor.  I'm of half a mind to spread out newspapers tonight.  Just in case.

I swear, everyone in this school needs some happy pills.  Or a swift kick to the head.  Maybe add somethin' to the water supply, i'ono.  Everyone's depressed or sick or just acting funny.  And not funny-haha, which is a damn shame.  'Cuz I could use some funny-haha.  Wacky hijinks and such.  But no.  I'm stuck with sad people.

I refuse to give in.  I will never surrender.  I'll just have to be as healthy and happy as everyone else seems not to be.  Yes, everyone.  Yes, that means you, too.  You know who you are.  You, who refuses to take your fair share of the joy in life.  You, who mopes in your room, snaps at people, lies to your friends.  You , who says everything's fine when it's not.  I am the answer to you.

I will be the bastion of goodness and smily faces.  I will eat Jell-O and ice cream and wear god-awful shoes.    I will bang on these drums all day.  I will walk to class on my hands.  Sometimes.  

So keep smilin', people.  

Or I'll punch you.




No, really.

I love ice cream.  Especially when I can share it with a good, good friend.  Even when said BFF has a perpetual frowny-face.  We'll have to work on that, friend.  The ice cream didn't work.  I have some other ideas.
